I must have missed the quote where she called protesters “Un-American”, and if she did in fact say that, she's wrong. Can anyone link me that quote, or is that just an interpretation of what she said?

As for protesting and Freedom of Speech… To be honest, I think this administration has handled it much better than the previous one, where folks were restricted to “Free Speech Zones” outside of the event. To me, that was real supression of free speech. At the same time, “free speech” does not protect acts of violence or threats of violence or inciting of riots, so I can understand why security might be needed. Granted, I feel like it would be more productive as an opponent of this health care reform to undermine through dialogue rather than shouting over someone so that they can't have a dialogue at all. One scenario makes you look like you're interested in getting the truth out, and the other makes you look like you're not interested in any discussion whatsoever and are only trying to be a disruption.

What questions? And who's preventing you from asking questions? What Democrats are tired of is people screaming “Liar” and “Socialist”, not the asking of hard questions. There's a difference.

It seems that the town halls have simmered down a bit as Congressmen know how to prepare for them. security is ready for trouble, and supporters of reform have showed up in force to keep the shouting to a standstill. It's possible that tough questions will actually get asked now and not drowned by fellow skeptics in a fit of righteous rage.

The boss needs a “W” before going into the real rough sledding ahead on immigration. Momentum is way more important than some policy details. Obama's agenda centerpiece needs to pass even if it amounts to giving flu shots at the free clinics.

Pelosi has demonstrated that she will wander off the ranch whenever the kitchen gets warm.

Watch for the boss to have a quiet word with the Blue Dogs and Harry Reid. A deal will be cut for the Blue Dog support and Harry will be told to toe the line and keep his mouth shut and use the Senate package to get the W before the end of the fall session.

Healthcare reform is a monumental issue we need to tackle as a nation, and until we can move beyond the petty yelling, and accusations of socialism, nazism, and being un-american, and onto exactly how we extend healthcare to every American in a way that bends that cost curve back down, we all lose. I applaud Obama for staying above the fray, despite the constant personal attacks and jabs.

If you correlate every stupid arse argument they make from healthcare to defense funding/spending legislation, they crumble.
