Liberals repeatedly try to draw best-cast scenarios for Obama predicated on the performances of previous presidents.

The troubling truth is that Obama entered the White House as the most-inexperienced candidate of the past half century.

There's a reason why former governors ascend to the Oval Office much more frequently than 1st-term senators with a paucity of executive experience in their resumes.

Furthermore, Obama capitalized on a sociological constellation of events not likely to be repeated in 2012. Put simply, he was in the right place at the right time and it is becoming more obvious by the moment that he is not up to the task and has personality traits which only compound his lack of experience.

He now has months, not years, to turn his off-course juggernaut around and only the most myopic Obama loyalists believe he has a handle on the issues that are foremost in voters minds independent of party affiliation.

Obama is being gored (no pun intended) on every front and he has re-energized the republican base which was gasping for air only five months ago. The right now is beginning to believe it can pull off a comeback unprecedented in American politics. It is angry, optimistic, and on the offensive--a very formidable force now to deal with.

Jesus Jazz, did you even read the essay? Maybe just the title, then. Try reading the whole the next time, it's more enjoyable.

I think you're right on a majority of things MP, but you fail to take into account the worthlessness and spinelessness of the Democrats. I do not know what promotes such self-loathing and self-destructive political behavior, but it is as equally galling as the total selfishness of Republican Congressmen. They have majorities, they have a strong President with vision and the ability to rally, and they have political capital. Instead, it is wasted in squabbling with the almost-powerless Republican party and pointless townhall meetings that only the press covers and the rest of the nation hardly cares about.

Something else is going on here...the bailout was passed quickly without any of this sniping on both sides, and so were other controversial bills. So why is healthcare shaping up to be such a political war? Is it simply because both parties are jockeying for advantage in 2010? I really cannot understand it and I blame Obama for a lack of leadership on the issue. When Congress squabbles, the President should step in and mediate, and even restart things over if necessary. Right now, I only get the feeling that both parties are muddying the waters as much as possible to cloud any true perception of what is really going on.

[...] Random Feed wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerptThey’re up, they’re down, and they’re all over the place depending upon who is doing the polling. And sadly they are completely meaningless. They reflect a fickle, highly divided and generally ignorant public that has the attention span of an American Idol Judge.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy this post every time it's written by people on either side. (And that's very, very often.) Inevitably, we crow over the polls that support our positions, such as "75% of Americans support health care reform! Yay!" and then, when they turn against us, we proclaim how meaningless they are.

Of course, I do the same thing, so it's a rather self abasing form of amusement. :-)
