OK so there's the issue of deletion….

What about the ability to actually change content…. Rewrite history…..? Not delete a book, but merely alter certain passages and/or facts.

Their are publishers who do make money off their e-book sales. Baen is one. They are a mainstream publisher of fantasy/sci fi who actually sell non-drm books. It turns out even when people get free (or ripped) ebooks (and Baen has a large selection of free titles to get you hooked) they are much more likely to continue buying that author. From author post on the Baen forum they also see an upsurge in residuals for older books they (the authors) had previously stopped making money on.
