Please, its all perspective. I'm sure if I were the lone survivor of an Iraqi village who got wiped off the map by an errant fire mission(and believe me there were lots of those) who then had to travel on foot without food and water for hundreds of miles due to the invasion, I might have a grudge or two against the american "Freedom Fighters" who came to put a stop to nuclear stockpiles that never existed. We unleashed a tide of chaos and misery in Iraq that far outstripped what Saddam was doing there and its still unclear whether the situation is going to end up with something favorable to our interests in the end.

We wiped out more civilians than Al-Queda has ever done, but we call it Operation Whatever and act like all those civilians that died we just collateral damage, because thats what we call them on the news. Our strategy up until recently was to drop a bomb on whatever building the enemy was hiding in regardless of who was around it. We had options, we could have sent our boys in there to go dig them out, but that would have meant American blood so not until recently have we adopted a strategy in line with our vaunted goals. But notheless, I seriously doubt the people who've watched what law and order they had, as well as access to things like water and electricity, vanish over the last 6 years, I seriously doubt they look upon us as freedom fighters. Trust me, they will cheer loud and long when we leave their country.

For whatever it's worth, the person you have quoted is most emphatically NOT a reporter.
