Full disclosure: My other job gives me ample reason to interact with Blue Dog Congressman Mike Ross and his staff. Accordingly, I’m hardly an objective source. Still, I genuinely like this guy — which is something I can’t say about all elected officials and their staff, whether or not I have a reason (or obligation) to interact with them.
So, why do I like Ross? Here’s one reason: He stands up for what he believes, and he doesn’t cater to leadership, if he thinks they’re wrong. Agree or disagree with him, I think you have to respect his integrity.
I respect his integrity as a faithful whore for Big Pharma:
“A pharmacist, Ross founded Ross Pharmacy Inc. He sold the business in 2007, but according to his 2008 financial disclosure form, he and wife Holly still “own 100% of stock” in the company, which pays dividends over $100,000 a year. Holly Ross is also listed as employed by Super D Drug Acquisition Co.”
Did you know that 1 in 5 Arkansans don't have health insurance?
“The health industry was the #1 sector contributing to Ross last year. OpenSecrets.org lists $261,000 in contributions from individuals and PAC's from health care businesses.”
