The constitution was written by white people only because they wouldn't allow anyone else at that time to share. I'm sure he would admit that was racist. To continue the trend is what? Justice because a Hispanic person can't understand the constitution? I think it's more of 'she can't touch white stuff' to me.

This guy should be hospitalized and have his brains checked. I live a non racist country Zambia and find it hard to believe this. Even Russia is not this bad.

So as soon the Emancipation Proclamation was signed black folks became equals and, since then, have had complete equal access to everything white folks do?

Also, what is your explanation for the fact that 1 in 4 black men will be put in jail in the US during their lives? Are black folks inherently more “criminal” than white people? Or is our justice system bent towards arresting more black people than white people?

I could continue with the questioning but I have a feeling you'll get lost after the first one. Being “color blind” does no justice for anyone. It simply is an easy way of avoiding history…or simply not understanding it.

You can go ahead and make up your own, special, limited definition of the word “racism”, declare it as the one true and right definition, and then use that definition to try to prove that someone is or is not a racist — but when I see that sort of crap (or, ahem, “pile of poop”), I'm going to call it out.

If you bring your tomatoes to the county fair, I’ll give you a blue ribbon even if they are 20% smaller than white farmer’s. As Barbara Boxer will attest, that wouldn’t be patronizing at all.

No one should expect inner-city tomatoes to be as big and juicy as rural tomatoes. It is the institutionalized oppression of the vines and the lack of proper role models that inhibit the young tomatoes from taking the proper paths to full maturity.

The only thing that is for sure is that some old, white republican is making a ton of money because you’re having problems growing tomatoes.

We do have people that want “to help the blacks” but these are also the same people that are the offspring of upper to upper middle class families that while young are liberal and as they get older turn conservative. They try to “teach those people” and when “those people” do not want to learn from a bigot dressed up in humanitarian clothing they get angry and decide all poor deserve to be poor so fuck'um. This is the description of a common state of mind but among a small percentage of the populace. Most people trying to “help” an area are not concentrated on a race but a community.

As for Pat he is racist just not what used to be considered racist. He has no problem using race baiting and inflaming racial tensions, then again few republicans since Nixon have, but always wants to stand back and say “I am not racist I am just proud to be white.” Funny the proud to be white thing was the new face of the KKK David Duke gave the media in the 1980's. Some do not consider it racist, some also do not think the southern strategy racist. I will continue despising those people and voting against everything they are about until they stop though.

Sadly I have always liked Pat, away from race he has some great things to say with some truly unique views many of which are very good ideas but they will never be heard. By his own fault, by his own words he has muted his voice to all that do not share some of his more extreme views or more extreme deals with the southern strategy devil. To be honest I dont think Pat is a bigot in his heart, I think he just plays one to stay in the limelight, I almost find that more disgusting. BY his words though he plays the classic post-1980 racist game though and therefore in my book he is a racist, kinda like all people to the left of Reagen are considered commies by him.

One last note is that without affirmative action we would still be living in the land of Jim Crow without the laws to enforce it. If you want someone to blame for the “evils” of affirmative action you should look to just about every white person in this country that did not fight racism up until the 1960's. It's their fault, they should have read the constitution and since they did not we have to play special favors to get this nation to live up to its ideals instead of talking out both sides of their mouth which is what we have a tendency of doing.

I am white, lower middle class and worked my entire life. I do not care about affirmative action, I care about a military industrial complex and US government that are giant piggy banks for the rich and their investments. That costs us a great deal more money and damages the nation much more.

Racism, in its purist form, is the idea that there are genetically inferior groups of people.

As you will notice in the sentence above, it ends with a period. It doesn’t continue on to say that a racist needs to hate these genetically inferior people, just that one believes there is a difference. So, to expand on this simple truth, people who claim to love and want to help these different groups are just as “racist” as the KKK.

When you identify a group of people as needing special “help” to pass tests, enter college, get jobs, be appointed to office, etc., you are saying in effect that these people are not capable of attaining these things on their own because they are not as good as the preferred class. How condescending. How utterly arrogantly racist.

You talk of Pat Buchanan, who has never uttered a racist word in his life and ignore the breathtaking condescension of Barbara Boxer, who believes in her heart that blacks are to be taken care of, much like pets.

Racism.

When you learn the meaning of the word (and when you finish apologizing to the people in your life you’ve been treating like fools because of the color of their skin) come back and we’ll talk.

Uh- America is a melting pot — a place for opportunity for the oppressed- or did I read the inscription wrong on the Statue of Liberty? White Europeans may have founded this country–but that is because they denied rights of ownership to those of other races. They have no inalienable right to hold onto it. They CAN continue to contribute to our continued prosperity– or they can long for “the good old days” lol.
