But I also feel certain that, when we lift out of the depression we're heading into, humanity will climb onto a road that is higher than any other we've experienced. I voted for who would lead the country the way I thought should be not because he was black. I have a button made by the company I work for it states "DON'T VOTE based on color" with a kaleidoscope of colors on it.

Basing your support on color is racism. Even if it is for the Minority that has been treated unfairly for a long history. The pendulum has swung in their direction for a long time, but it is now swinging back sometimes sharply. Stopping racism is about getting the pendulum to stop swinging in favor or against any Race. As a people, we Americans are simply too impatient. If the economy is still a wreck at this time next year, then the Dems can start sounding alarm bells. As it is now, it's far too soon.

What's been the historic trend during economic crisis in the past? iirc, Presidential approval numbers have taken a hit in bad economic times. The economy issues can't all be blamed on any one President nor Congress, though they do have some responsibility but there is enough "blame" to go around to more than just politicians.

Obama is what, just about 6months into his term so there hasn't been too much he could do and the economy doesn't turn on a dime. I hope our economy starts to really recover soon, not for Obama's sake, but for the country in general.

Just like the Dot.com bubble bursting wasn't all Clinton's fault, this economy isn't Bush's fault completely. As GS said, "...people are likely to take their frustrations out on the current party in power." but that isn't necessarily a positive for the GOP unless they can connect with the voters again and gain their trust.
