I wasn't being critical, just making an observation. We know that “attractive” people make more money, and are taken more seriously in our society. These are facts that have been well documented by sociologists. And applies to both men and women, so I don't think that qualifies as “sexist”. Also, I was not being hostile, hateful or negative…..so exactly why was what I said not “always optimistic”?

How does that sexist remark qualify as “always optimistic”? Besides, you're not setting the bar particularly high.

Actually, I think the republican leadership remains a bit scared of what Palin may do. She is demonstrating an ongoing penchant for being divisive and peeling away the social conservative “base” that the republican party has pandered to since St. Ronnie's days. Her continued presence on the national scene guarantees a republican party that will be wandering the wilderness for a couple of decades.

I mean, a day without a Palin post would be like a day without..well, another Palin post. The world might stop spinning on its axis. Luckily, it appears we will never have to know that risk.

I think the American (and thus media) obsession with Sarah Palin is because she is such a “lightening rod” for controversy and because she came out of complete obscurity to entire the presidential race. I think as long as she stays in the public arena the controversy and media will follow. But I sometimes do wonder, “If Sarah Palin was not physically attractive, would she get this kind of attention?”.
