newsbusters reports what carl cannon says? carl cannon, now writing for politics daily.com, formerly for readers digest?

balancing the moderate voice w/a newsbuster report about carl cannon's opinion is like balancing mr. rogers neighborhood w/jeff gannon's report on what paris hilton thinks. the parts that aren't overtly partisan are simply irrelevant.

That was several weeks back. Those "deals" have probably dried up since her attempt to become a credible and popular conservative spokesman utterly failed.

Maybe she resigned because she suddenly discovered that she was the last to realize that she is an embarrassment to the GOP. Seems to me she left with her head between her legs in shame. I suspect this especially because of that little "head shake" from John McCain a few weeks ago regarding a question about her viability.

Palin's book deal is with HarperCollins Publishers... a Murdock owned media property.

Btw, when will Sarah appear on 'Meet the Press'?

I hope she does, 'Saturday Night Live' will have comedic material for weeks if she does.

I'm surprised these schemes haven't advanced to include photos of Obama or an altered Obama photo, or claims that the official is related to Obama.

As to Palin, I bet nobody else on here has actually read the Vanity Fair piece about her (which is far from the usual fluff -- and beyond something the likes of, say, Andrew Sullivan could actually compose):

You're blundering again, J. Spencer. The media and other liberals are the ones at the forefront and nearly everywhere else neurotically putting her in the spotlight, as on this liberal Web site. (The scummier attacks only motivate even us non-fans-or-advocates of her to defend her, attacks that no doubt also will boost her book sales, which I hope enrich her as deservedly as these attacks more than she deserve.)

I can appreciate why some among our right leaning brethren would prefer the media to just forget about Palin. Afterall, she represents their failed judgement during a (very recent) time when they embraced and defended her as credible POTUS material. Democrats hardly need to say a word about her though, what with all the conservatives who are stepping up and publicly recognizing her as a liability. The media will let her go on the backburner when she stops thrusting herself into the limelight.

For an interesting counterpoint, read Peggy Noonan's WSJ article followed by Matthew Continetti's article in the Weekly Standard. Same subject, completely different points of view. Both articles are biased and cherry-pick the facts to support their particular argument. But, if you read them both instead of just one, you can fill in the middle and, maybe find some balance.
