To Cheney and his ilk, the US must never lose, but can never really win in Iraq because US military forces can never be permitted to leave. Why this is so, only they can comprehend. It's as if the US only has a military and nothing else to offer the world. Sad really.

Army Navy Air Farce Marines Coast Guard at the beck and CALL for the Iraqi military?

With regard to Air Strikes on suspected insurgents, this seems a little “ify” to me. Maybe not. Maybe an Iraqi is better culturally equipped to differentiate between attacking insurgents and a wedding party.
