Smiling at Shannon's joke, but, at the same time, countries really are allowed to have different moral standards. Just because someone in Norway thinks blowjob jokes are great to advertise national chains, it doesn't mean I have to think so. If I were to go to Indonesia, I'd try to remember not to use my left hand to pass things to Muslim friends, not just go, “bah! in Europe, no one cares about the left hand. You're all a bunch of idiots.”

Without hyperventilating: What happened to the slogan, "Moral values, family values"?

Was it just a slogan?

I am not talking about the Republican folks. I am talking about Republican politicians who built an entire movement on a lie that has now been exposed.

It's not the offense necessarily, we all sin. It's the hypocrisy and the political preaching and judgment passed on others

Apparently, his wife has known about the affair for the past five months. I know absolutely nothing about her as a person, but no one deserves to be cheated on like that. I feel for her.

I'm also someone who said that I didn't particularly care about Ensign having an affair. But, yeah, Sanford's greater political ambitions are toast for at least the rest of the decade. Disappearing for a week to visit your mistress in Argentina while lying not just to your wife, but seemingly your own staff and security? It doesn't scream “elect me!”
