They seem to have arrested the career politicians/possibly sympathetic security leaders and journalists/artists over the the last few days leaving no one to guide the protestors. Today Andrew Sullivan had tons of people saying that they were purposefully isolating people as they were trying to get to the rally to prevent critical mass. Unless mass protests/riots/strikes break out across the entire country, I think things will die down rather soon. The fact is that the regime played its cards perfectly.
