If those on the right think this is a matter of national importance, or if those on the left think bad jokes about them are, well, what can I say but GROW UP.

I actually felt sorry for Palin at first, the way she was used by the party to target a particular demographic that they couldn't reach otherwise- but at the same time she seemed more than happy to primp and preen herself around, extolling her “aw shucks” family values. She is as pandering to the base as the Clinton's are/were to the Dem base, and she deserves what she gets.

Pushing for the firing of Letterman or Imus is everyone's right as a citizen, but it is sad to me that people are wasting their time with this. The fact that people are so caught up in this issue (on either side) tells me that we have really lost our way. Let's stop being babies and crying about everything that offends us, conservative and liberals alike.

The Palin's have a completely logical argument when they say that Dave meant Willow…why??? Because Willow was there and Bristol wasn't.

Was Dave referring to Bristol? Yes. Did Dave know that only Willow was there? No.
But that is his mistake.

And when did people's children become fair game in this country. Not even the mafia attacks family.

David Letterman's hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it's Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who've gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It's the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that'll outdo even Hitler's by stating that “Judah hath dealt treacherously” and “the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this” and asks “Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?”
Haven't evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and Jewish persons? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin's continuing “crucifixion”!
While David and Sandra are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!

Seriously I thought I had said things should quiet down but if you don't like that fair enough

Perhaps it has something to do with writing another article complaining there are too many articles already

However, now that Letterman is doing a full apology on his upcoming show tonight, despite all the advice from the lefties here not to worry about it, you can write another article covering that in the morning.

Unfortunately Palin and her supporters are being deliberately obtuse regarding the “misunderstanding” in the joke and are enraged due to their lack of comedy comprehension.

Dave's apology should have been along the lines of, “I'm profoundly sorry that you're an idiot that could get confused and outraged reading a corn flakes box.”

Mike Reagan talked about blowing up Islamic babies by putting grenades up their butts. Rush is infamous for his racist comments ( Limbaugh: “I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.” Glenn Beck blathering on about how he's come to hate the victims of 9/11. It is a multi-million dollar industry built around hatred being stepped over the air waves as entertainment!

If you rally against Dave and not against Rush, Beck, Mike Reagan and the rest then you have NO right so make one more posting or speak one more syllable about this issue. Not ONE!

As off color and stupid of a joke as it was, it was obvious which daughter Letterman was talking about. I was right there with everyone else saying it was too low of a joke and that he should apologize which he did. The continued fake umbrage from Palin and company is funny.

“This is how free speech works, he says what he thinks, you say what you think, but you don’t fire someone for being stupid. We’ve got many better things to discuss than a nasty old guy in Manhattan.”

Of course we do, but some would rather continue to have a temper tantrum over this instead of acting like adults and moving onto more important issues.

It’s an opportunity to stand up and be counted denouncing a scum bag. It’s an opportunity to be counted standing with Palin while the cheap, gutless response is to agree with Peggy Noonans and Kathleen Parkers.

Liberals are scared stiff of this woman, with good reason. Petty elitism always comes through in its most unflattering light when it attacks someone like Palin.

The last person that was so derided by the left won the Presidency with 44 states.
