Hooray! Another way to flush cash into Palin!

Yes, my friends, good news comes in many forms. This weekend, it’s a reminder that you can still redirect your hard earned dollars away from workaday concerns like bills, vacation or retirement and into the coffers of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Just head on over to the Alaska Fund Trust (AFT) and let the love flow! And what, you may ask, will this money be going for? Her reelection as governor? A 2012 run at the White House? No, I’m sorry… nothing quite so pedestrian as that. No, it seems that AFT is raising money to “retire” more than half a million dollars in debt that Ms. Palin has run up in legal fees, defending herself from the various legal charges and ethics complaints rising against her since… well, pretty much since she took office as the Governor.

You’d think that her previous cash grab efforts with SarahPAC might have been able to help out somewhat. But that hope may have been derailed when the GOP consultant group in charge, Campaign Solutions, bailed out on the PAC almost immediately because of, ummm… more ethics issues over the establishment of the PAC itself. Now there’s even somebody holding a “webathon” or selling some hijacked Girl Scout cookies or something to beef up the bank account.

Some of Palin’s most vocal defenders, and associates of the new Trust, describe all of the complaints against the Governor has having been “political” and “baseless” as well as saying that the complaints have been “dismissed.” Oh really?

How much money was spent by both sides in the investigation of the tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer cash which were paid out to a few farmers, including the father-in-law of Palin’s school chum and incredibly unqualified head of Agriculture, Franci Havemeister? Those payments were determined by state auditors to have been illegal and were part of the sprawling Dairygate scandal which has never gotten a full hearing on the national level. (See this article for a full timeline.) But I guess that means they were “dismissed.”

How about the legal costs surrounding advice given to several state employees to ignore subpoenas by the equally unqualified ambulance chaser cum Attorney General who later resigned in disgrace. I guess that was all “dismissed” also, eh?

And I’m not sure how much her supporters should be asked to pay for defending the Governor against ethics charges she filed against herself. The list goes on, and enough time has passed by now that many of the things which should have made you angry or depressed about Palin’s history in Alaska may just make you laugh today.

But hey… this isn’t taxpayer cash coming from government coffers we’re talking about here. It’s all voluntary cash, freely given by her adoring acolytes, so the link is up there for you to send your money in right away. Enjoy!

All of which she has been found NOT GUILTY - they are all drummed up charges - she has been exonerated each time and many of them just plain silly and thrown out of court. SHAME on LIBS to continue their charade of slanders and lies against this female who had the audacity to run along side McCain as a vice presidential candidate. The VP we got instead is a BUFOON who opens his mouth and out tumbles one GUFAW after the next - how much money is being spent just trying to keep his mouth shut - the damage control on BIDEN does not seem to make the news media headlines. He is the elected VP - not Palin. Start cleaning up the mess with BIDEN.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I have donated to both the Alaska Fund Trust and SarahPAC and let me tell you why. SarahPAC allows Sarah Palin to be the only high profile politician in America who is not financially tied to organized crime and entrenched Washington interests, Democratic or Republican. This is the only way for leaders to clean house, to get their backing directly from the people. (I am a registered Democrat, by the way.)

The Alaska Fund provides money to the Governor to defend against the endless attacks initiated by a group in Alaska hired originally by David Axelrod during the campaign, and which is still financed by that obscure evolutionary organization from the campaign now called Organizing for America (which is still soliciting donations from around the world). Once again, Alaska Fund Trust is set up so that normal everyday Americans can back the Governor to stand up to the Chicago Machine.

Why the name? Because the Machine set up bogus groups like Sarah Palin Defense Fund to get as much money as they could before the Governor could distinguish the only legitimate one.

Okay? So you get it now? Sarah Palin and the people vs. organized crime. Don't bet on the wrong side of this because in 2012, when Attorney General Rudy Guiliani starts the indictment flying, those accepting checks from the bad guys will be co-conspirators.

I'm just glad that Sarah Palin's name is still in the news. As long as that corrupt knucklehead remains on the public stage, the republican party remains a laughingstock.

Thank you, Sarah Palin, for helping keep Democrats in power!

And out from under rocks they crawl....

From the AFT website: "I joined with fellow Alaskans in forming the Alaska Fund Trust to help alleviate the Governor's legal debt incurred while performing her job as well as eliminate the incentive for future attacks by her opponents. In doing so, we have created one of the most restrictive and transparent legal funds in history."

So.... what does ".. created one of the most restrictive and transparent legal funds in history" mean?

The trust can give money to Palin, her staff or any of her family members to cover any of their legal defenses under any past or future actions. That seems pretty broad to me. I briefly looked at the links to the similar agreements they provided and none other was this broad.

The ATF could also cover any legal expenses Bristol would incur in disputes with Levi.

Let's reassess that bravado once the election returns are in from Virginia, NJ and NY. Your proclamation of a political dynasty seems a bit premature based on what I read in those polls.

What's more clear at this juncture is the Democrats, their echo chamber blogger roll and their late night comedy troupe need to keep rolling out distractions on unimportant things due to the fact their abilities to deal with real problems like intelligence assessments on North Korea are summed up in confidence-inspiring responses today such as "God only knows"..............

CO Where was your critical analysis when W and his Republican Congress grew government, tried to buy the senoir vote and waged a pre-emptive war, all against conventional conservative principles.

I too looked at the fund. I think my money is better spent giving to any hospital fund, volunteer organization, homeless organization, youth program, I could go on and on. My choice and all for reasons that have been stated in this article I find that Palin is not worthy. Sorry to those who support her.

Now on to serious issues, like Iran, Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, plenty of others within foreign policy, health care, medicare/medicaid, Social Security, crime statistics, and plenty of other problems within society, of which non are addressed by giving to the Palin fund.
  • "You’d think that her previous cash grab efforts with SarahPAC might have been able to help out somewhat."

*SarahPAC can't pay for her legal fees that's illegal my friend.

"But that hope may have been derailed when the GOP consultant group in charge, Campaign Solutions, bailed out on the PAC almost immediately because of, ummm… more ethics issues over the establishment of the PAC itself."

*** I am not sure who decided to part ways, but Palin was upset with the level of miscommunication that was taking place between SarahPAC and her state staffers. Becki Donatelli wanted Palin to do more things on a national level like holding fundraisers for SarahPAC etc..Palin also wanted to keep her political operations close to her in AK.

These are the reasons why Campaign Solutions and SarahPAC parted ways, It had nothing to do with that silly ethics complaint Try doing some research before you post your next blog entry about palin

It's really disingenuous of you to connect a nutroot smear with this fund, since most of these ethics complaints really are petty in nature and the nutroot smear with the reason why she created the fund.

    1. The Politicization of Troopgate
    2. The fact that she posted a message on the state website in august announcing that she will be running for vice president (ethics complaint filed on march of this year)
    3. Palin's Press Secretary answering questions from the press about Palin's status on attending some national events ( ethics complaint filed)
    4 SarahPAC and Fund
    etc...
    5. Palin's clothing line.
    6. I think they filed more complaints against her staffers for answering questions from the media about Palin concerning national events.
    7. Conducting a fox interview with greta at her Anchorage office after the election.

    etc.... petty stuff...

When I read the fund documents, they sent up red flags all over the place. Like the ability of each of the beneficiaries to draw out an amount ($13,000, I recall) per person, per year, for ANY purpose. Personal ATM, anyone?
