Religion, Death and Hate

I’m back! Been M.I.A for a couple of weeks between graduating from Seminary, grading finals, posting grades and the usual end of the semester rush. A few stories over the weekend has interested me enough to dust off my keyboard and vent my opinion over cyberspace.

Why is it that the most offensive murders in society are committed by people who kill because they oppose death? If you are a pro-life Christian, and you kill, in my opinion you are full of hate and living in total disobedience to the teaching of Jesus Christ.

In the shooting that killed two Army privates, hate once again played a major role in their death. It is reported that the young man who is charged with murder was under FBI investigation after coming back from Yemen where he underwent a conversion to Islam. Faith and morals that have foundations in religions such as Christianity and Islam are a positive force for good in our society. However, in the past few days we are reminded that religion can be used as the seed of hatred, exclusion and justification for immoral behavior.

What is that old saying? Good people do good things, bad people do bad things, but for a good person to do bad things you need religion (or politics).

In the human culture, insanity abounds. Many of those standing up for the rights of the unborn feel no remorse about killing arabs in the middle east or Dr.s Stateside who they disagree with…hmmm..

And many homosexuals on the left who are absolutely adamant about human rights when it comes to flaunting their fetish culture as “normal” via marriage, will be the first in line to support abortion..an activity which strips other people [young and unborn, but still people] of their fundamental rights, paramount of which might be the right to breathe…

    and so on…

I find myself standing outside all these debates and looking at agendas. Everyone has an agenda. The mistake is when they try to tout the agenda as some fundamental moral “right”. I wish people would just call stuff what it is instead of trying to glorfy their behavior under the banner of some ideal they'll never reach..

    Hypocrites never do…
