The comment you left above is so old. First, it's clear by your comment that unless all of the writers on this site did posts that agree with your viewpoint -- which by your comment makes it clear where you stand -- it could not be moderate. Secondly, look at any poll and you will see a)moderate and independent voters are not monolithic and b)right now more moderates and independents ...and some moderate Republicans...agree with the Democrats than the Republicans. So sorry you feel this way but pollilng will indicate that a lot of moderates and independents agree with many of the posts on this site..which includes writers who are in fact Republicans but don't agree with some of the things some Republicans are doing or the way they are addressing issues. If you think this is "The Progressive Voice" then you need to go through our Left Voices blogroll and you will notice a difference and you don't, then you can also email some blogs on the left that refuse to link to TMV because we have views on here that they don't share. One blog aggregator put us in the RIGHT column. We get tons of emails from people on the left and right who say a post can't be moderate -- because it doesn't agree with them. But polls show moderate, independents and centrists are not monolithic groups, nor are they like CSPAN hosts who try not to show that they have reached a conclusion on an issue.

If you look atl the posting guidelines, we do try to have people address the issues raised in a post. Just going after the site and the writers won't convince anyone on an issue. So if you disagree with this post, then leave a comment explaining why this take is wrong and give people your take. You could even change some minds.

I just have one question: Why does this blog call itself "The Moderate Voice"??? From what I can tell, this blog is a big proponent of the Liberal point of view. You always trash repubs and defend Dems. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to call yourselves "The Liberal Voice" or " The Progressive Voice". There is absolutely nothing "moderate" about this blog as far as I can see.

DaGoat,
Could not agree with you more.
If either party wants to filibuster, make them stand in the chamber and talk til they're blue in the face.
This business of agreeing to not make Senators expose themselves to ridicule really kills the intent of the filibuster.

If the GOP filibusters they will look like hypocrites, and if the Democrats criticize the use of the filibuster they will look like hypocrites. In this case they are all hypocrites.

I agree with Dr T the filibuster in it's modern form probably doesn't reflect it's original intent. Personally I'd love to see politicians from both sides of the aisle gasping for air and passing out a la "Mr Smith Goes to Washington".

I don't care if they filibuster or not. The more they do to alienate Hispanic voters, the better, as far as I'm concerned. And should they disrupt by filibuster all progress, I hope Americans take that option away from them in next year's election.
