I'm not sure where the French gov't comes in though.

Amusingly enough, the French government, unlike the US government which believes that its sole goal is to make sure that the sheep can be sheared without to much effort, believes that it is it's duty to protect it's citizens from fraudsters. banksters and various other "capitalist entrepreneur". It's what happens when a country actually has a left.

I've been to a few introductory session in Scientology. Yes, it's a massive fraud. I'm not sure where the French gov't comes in though.

Bill Maher does a pretty good takedown of the foolish beliefs of Scientology in Religulous, along with scathing expose of Catholocism, Christianity in general, Islam and Judiasm. My favorite line, when asked by one of the faithful (after asking him if he really believes a man could live inside a 'big fish' for 3 days) “don't you believe in miracles?”

He says, “of course not. I'm not 10.”
