Nine points? Thats a bigger margin than what Obama was elected over McCain, and there has been considerable discussion about Obama's mandate.

As far as the protestors go, I know I would be pretty ticked off if this was my graduation. I don't think the pro-life folks are helping themselves out any here. And when they bring folks like Alan Keyes along, well as Elrod suggested, embarrassment is bound to come.

The louder the pro-life forces get, the more likely the pro-choice sleeping giant will reawaken. It's happened before. The pro-life side might embarrass itself on Sunday if it isn't careful. Here's a hint – hide Alan Keyes.

While I have a long list of issues with the Catholic Church and the pro-life movement, you have to admit, the protestors now hold the majority viewpoint, no?

Barely, yes — by the same percentage that Bush won reelection. I don't think that gives them a mandate, either.
