Olberman is an overpaid employee who works for GE, not exactly a Left wing Corporation, the very same corporation who went out and fired Phil Donahue when he decided that he was against the Iraq war despite having some of the best ratings MSNBC had at the time (Would not want to let some peacenik stand between GE and some easy blood money).

Neither Moore nor Garofalo have the audience that Rush and Company have, nor do they have anywhere near the influence on the Democratic party that Rush has.

That's because there is no Democratic equivalent to Fox News, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, etc…

The key is to stop that cycle of knee-jerk opposition coming from both sides. How to do that I have no idea.

Step 1 – Take Limbaugh and all of his immitators of the radio.
Step 2 – Make Fox news an “a la carte” cable channel (actually make all of cable “a la carte”).
Step 3 – Make it so that the economy does not consist of a handful of winners (3% to 5% of the population) and losers (everyone else).

If all else fails
Invent time machine, go back to 1860 convinced Lincoln to let the south secede and expand North into Canada.

The Republicans believe that if you don't think like them, then you're against them. But as Scarborough said (and I agree with), “If you’re mature enough, you realize Barack Obama doesn’t hate America, I don’t hate America — we just have different views of how to make America a better place And if you look at history over 250 years, that’s worked out pretty well.”

Once the Republicans realize this then they will be willing to negotiate…. After all they only represent a minority of the people and the majority of Americans do not like their policies or beliefs. If the GOP wants anything they'll come to the table and be adults over differences.

Republicans screwed everyone over, including many of their own.

Also, there were good reasons for Bush's unpopularity his policies were disasterous for our country. Don't forget that — he was also unpopular among Independents and even a third of his own party. He governed by and for the extreme right base and not for the ordinary Americans who put him in office.
