Many people have compared the current state of the Republican Party with that of the Democratic Party just a couple years ago under Bush.... Everyone was writing off the Democratic Party... As we have seen the Democratic Party did make a comeback. And people believe that the Republican Party, being in the same situation as the Dems were a few years ago will make a comeback.

I would like to point out that the Democratic Party didn't really fall out of favor over anything the as Dems did. Rather the Dems were demonized by the GOP. The GOP lied to the country about the reasons to go to war in Iraq, about torture about so much to get the country on their (the GOP) side. It's not that people decided the Dems were making bad decisions (they weren't in a position to make decisions). It's that the GOP had the country believing that they (the GOP) was the better choice. And the GOP had the country believe that the Dems WOULD make bad decisions if the Dems prevailed (like how we see the GOP demonizing Obama today- there's always something Obama will do in the future that needs to be stopped now, before he can do it).

However today the Republicans ARE making poor decisions (such as those governors who initially refused unemployment benefits) and the Republicans are also back to their old demonizing ways.... but this time it's against themselves and anyone within their party who isn't a right wing, anti-abortion, anti-gay Christian. Notice all those "anti's" in there.... The party that preaches and welcomes inclusion will always have more supporters than a party that excludes certain people (and even kicks them out the door).

Lest we forget - it took **SIX** ballot voting rounds to pick Steele as chairman. Not exactly someone I would call a consensus candidate, eh?

The PartyOfNo has shot itself in its own feet so many times over the past months that they are rapidly running out of feet (especially with people scampering away from the PartyOfNo before they have a chance to get shot). But I have no doubt that *eventually* the PartyOfNo will regain its proper sound footing - it's only a question of whether that will happen in the next several months or the next several years. The way things are going, I suspect the latter.

Once again, Steele reminds people that when you hire the quota hire, you get what you deserve. Steele is uninformed, inarticulate, and not capable of handling himself in front of the media. The fast he is shown the door the better.

The GOP will have to lose at least two more major elections before it gets the picture. It took the Democrats a long time to realize that FDR/LBJ-style liberalism wasn't selling anymore.

Can't imagine why no one is RSVPing for dinner and why so many of those who showed up have left.

Think I'll go to the barbecue next door where they offer a choice off the grill, and you can have a beer and say whatever you like without being shown the door.
