I love this post by Michael Reagan.
I agree completely that the Republic Party should whittle itself down to the bare bones of extreme right wing lunatics.
There should be absolutely no freedom of thought or tolerance of "moderate" viewpoints in the Party.
This is an absolute guarantee of electoral success. (For people who are NOT extreme right wing lunatics.)

But when I read "His decision to support President Barack Obama’s shockingly extravagant $800 billion “monstrosity package,” which will be on the backs of our children far into the future" I wonder where he [Mr. Reagan] was hiding when the former administration was saddling our children with the debt of the war in Iraq. The cost of that misadventure will be paid by our children, and they will have received nothing positive for the debt they will have to pay. The “monstrosity package" will at least yield some positive results for those asked to foot the bill.

But again, I am in complete unsnarky agreement with Reagan when he says; "having Arlen Specter in your ranks is like having Benedict Arnold in your army. He may be with you today but the chances are whenever he finds it’s convenient, he’ll turn on you."

Sad, but true.
