My guess is that Specter can do pretty much what he wants and the Democrats will back him because they want to encourage more switches.

Wow. Well, that certainly changes the political calculus in the Senate. I wonder how loyal a Democrat he will be, and what he was promised by leadership to do this.

My guess is he will be loyal, to get as much support for his re-election as possible.
