I think the blowup over the 'handshake' is much ado over nothing.<br><br>Obama was standing there and Chavez walked up and offered his hand. Obama had three choices.<br><br>1. Ignore him<br><br>2. Shake his hand and be polite<br><br>3. Shake his hand and be really happy about it.<br><br>He chose option #2 which is the right choice. Turning his back on the handshake would have been childish and shallow. By making it clear with his body language that the handshake was not 'I'm thrilled to see you' as much as 'I will grin and bear it because I'm polite' I think he took the right tack.
