Kateliz:

Where do you get the following nonsense from: (And I mean it, can you give some credible sources for this, or is it just your "gut feel?")

"Europeans and the rest of the world...hate you just as much as ever. They still think you are for he most part uncouth rubes. They think your culture is unsophisticated and purile. They think you are greedy and money grubbing. Adults think your movies are simplistic and boring. They think you are stupidly religious. They think you are inferior. They think you are descended from the dregs of Europe. They think you are crass, stupid and arrogant in business and politics. They truly believe themselves to be superior in every way. "

Of course, as in any country, there are those few who may fit your "model."

But, Europeans in general? Come on!

I have lived and served abroad for over 30 years, and I can assure you, you are greatly mistaken.

And, yes, "THEY NEED [US] They need you to buy their products." Don't we?

Yes, "They need you to keep them safe. They know perfectly well you saved their bacon in TWO world wars." And they have thanked us and continue to be grateful for this.

And yes, "They know that you will place your kids lives on the line to defend them. They know that without you, the agression and communism they have always known was at their doorstep would have overtaken them. They know that you will never allow them to be threatened by say Iran. They know you will fight the terrorists and save democracy for them. They know that you will always stand up for the freedoms they enjoy"

"but really do not want to have to defend. They know that without the need to defend themselves, they are free to buy themselves a confortable life within their socialistic societies." bunch of nonsense! Look at Europe's contribution to NATO

"Their economies are in trouble and they really really need you to save them." And so is ours, and we need a global effort to fix it

LOL, is that the real breakdown, Leonidas? It's actually surprising then that the positive responses weren't even higher.

Funny how no Rasmussen poll gets mentioned here without comments about methodology, yet something like this flies under the radar?

Also not the respondents.

Does anyone else wonder at 26.4% being Republicans?
Nice pie chart. It must take a lot of work to create such a horrendously inaccurate picture from a grand total of two numbers. (Hint: 66+24=100?)

Also, when I see all those people from other countries especially Europe praising America for electing him I think that puts a lot of pressure on those country's leaders to work with the man, which should pan out to be more for us (Americans).

So, how do explain that at G20, the European leaders got exactly what they wanted on economic matters, and Obama's request for more troops in Afghanistan has been ignored as well? What exactly is panning out for us, or how long do we wait before deciding that this approach isn't working?

Obama's approval rating is understandable. So many Americans bought into the idea that if only they were nicer, Europeans and the rest of the world would like them. Got news. They don't. They hate you just as much as ever. They still think you are for the most part uncouth rubes. They would love to see you fail except for one thing.

THEY NEED YOU. They need you to buy their products. They need you to go to the mall and run up your credit cards in hopes of buying their respect. They need you to keep them safe. They know perfectly well you saved their bacon in TWO world wars. They know that you will place your kids lives on the line to defend them. They know that without you, the agression and communism they have always known was at their doorstep would have overtaken them. They know that you will never allow them to be threatened by say Iran. They know you will fight the terrorists and save democracy for them. They know that you will always stand up for the freedoms they enjoy but really do not want to have to defend. Their economies are in trouble and they really really need you to save them.

And, in needing you, they hate you.

How appropriate that you have a President who will do anything to be liked. Obama bowed low and humbled America hoping that they would love him.
A vain hope. Europeans will cheer loudly and loath silently. They will now continue to not only hate Americans but will have proof positive that you deserve it. Did Obama not stand there and bow and appologise for EVERYTHING?

In weeks and months to come Americans will become aware that the world still can't stand Americans. Americans may then become aware that Obama, economically politically and emotionally gave away the store and America has received not one modicum of respect for it. Disappointment in Obama will take the place of this irrational exuberance.

I think he is doing a good job for several reasons. First in my lifetime I have never seen a president come into power under such circumstances and he has appeared to be very competent in handling the situation. I personally have seen my portfolio rise 30% since the beginning of March. Also, when I see all those people from other countries especially Europe praising America for electing him I think that puts a lot of pressure on those country's leaders to work with the man, which should pan out to be more for us (Americans).

As for Republicans hating on Obama. Who cares that is what the opposition does. I think it is stupid to hate on him for bs, but I definitely think that he needs the hate to keep him sharp.

Put me in the disapproval column. I'm a fiscal conservative and am not pleased by the record deficeit levels that his economic plans are saddling us with, and I'm also not pleased with the continuation of many Bush policies that I do not approve of such as warrantless wiretapping, signing statements that are used to circumvent provisions of law passed by Congress as well as his latest move to end run the Constitution on restriction on corporate compensations. If Obama used his Constitutionally granted power of the VETO to get the changes he wants to legislation I'd support many of his ideas, but I cannot support this such as this:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...

This resembles Bush's third term more than any hop and change. Also I'm not won over by the campaign of rebranding like John Stewart pokes fun at:

http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?v...

http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?v...

I want solutions and real policy adjustments not cosmetic word changes.

What else would anyone expect after months of totally postie, unquestioning, media reporting. The MSM still does not feel comfortable saying anything negative about President Obama and the Democratic leaning talking heads have a high level of coordination. Also, look at the over the top reporting on Mrs. Obama.

This is what the future looks like in the coming one party state. A MSM that takes ownership in the one political party and the refusal of the media to criticize those in power.

And last, David Axelrod has hit on the ultimate in political power, the promise to tax the crap out of a small part of the population and give the money to large number of Democratic supporting groups.
