Burning up the internets…

The zombie ideas have won.
The Obama administration is now completely wedded to the idea that there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with the financial system — that what we’re facing is the equivalent of a run on an essentially sound bank. As Tim Duy put it, there are no bad assets, only misunderstood assets. And if we get investors to understand that toxic waste is really, truly worth much more than anyone is willing to pay for it, all our problems will be solved….
What an awful mess.
The old joke is that only an economist can be consistently wrong and still be considered an expert. Krugman has been wrong plenty of times and may be right or wrong now. One thing he has done consistently is bash the GOP and that has made him attractive to the left. Believing bringing him to the White House would solve much of anything is childish.
DaGoat, you completely ignore the fact that the GOP worked hard for years to deserve that bashing.
Jim I have bashed the GOP plenty, but I don't believe they are always wrong any more than I think Democrats are always wrong. Krugman has carved out his niche as a media celebrity economist, which gives him no more credibility than any other economist. Maybe he's right, who knows, but the video is juvenile.
