There's nothing wrong with pay hikes to the public sector. By your own words, Ireland fell into the trap of the entire west-loving world: Live for today, the hell with tomorrow, free trade, gobble, gobble... The pay hikes will probably save these people in the wake of, and during the funeral of, rampant, predatory, mafia-driven capitalism. Did you learn the lesson yet, Europe? It doesn't work. Get the hell out of the WTO, the world bank and everything else that is new world order and respect your country again and your heritage of SELF-sufficiency.
