The problem is that newspapers may well be going the way of the telegraph. The obsolescence of the technology may hold sway for the printed word. With that comes some problems, the least of which is siting material.

Over the years, Newspapers failed to investigate talking points. The hype became the news. It's ironic that you call out web sites for links to the printed word. At least you know where the talking points are coming from. Had questions about WMD or yellow-cake been investigated and published as stories instead White House propaganda, maybe their veracity would less questioned.

It took those web sites you look down upon to bring to bring to light much of the BS we deal with today. If the web sites deserve your scorn, remember it is the fast and loose handling of "news" by MSM that created them.

The internet definitely needs policing in its own right. That's a different thread.
