  1. We'll see how that works out when Obama pushes all sorts of anthropogenic global warming solutions and only listens to one side of the debate.

Except that politics has a nasty habit of hanging around science:

When the Obama Administration decided to shut down Yucca mountain so that the Nuclear power industry would shut down. Of course the left did these because it has an irrational fear of radiation. It goes against the desire to decrease carbon emissions, to develop industries inside the U.S. and create jobs. Between wanting to shut down coal fired plants and nuclear power plants, the Obama Administraiton wants to shut down over 70% of electricity generation in the U.S. even though every expert says that it cannot be replaced by solar and wind.

  4. ToxicAdam says:

Except for the convenient fact that overall spending on science INCREASED in the Bush years. Just not in a few notable fields.

  5. AustinRoth says:

Toxic – now don't go confusing the Left with pesky facts (unless of course they are “Left-approved” facts, a.k.a. as semi-plausible falsehoods).

And above all, it is not the results, it is not how much is spent, or even where it is spent, it is 'was it spent by OUR rules', and does it SOUND good.

For example, did you know that ALL clinically successful trials to date involving stem cell therapy have come from either adult stem cell lines or umbilical stem cell lines? Interesting, isn't.

And the really funny part is that I actually DO support embryonic stem cell research. Plus, unlike Clinton, I go so far as to support 'fertilized embryonic stem cells'! HA HA HA HA – and the Left are supposedly the 'intellectuals' of our political system, and Clinton wsa the smartest President ever, taking the title from Carter, but now giving it to Obama, of course. :)
