		<description>I&#039;ve always believed American corporations when they&#039;ve said that their only purpose is to maximize profits for the share holders.  They clearly feel they have no moral imperatives built into their business philosophy.  I believe the &quot;light touch&quot; of regulation  mentioned above is not enough.  Corporations have legal standing in our justice system, but they lack any sense of responsibility toward their customers.  Humans, sole proprietors if you will, bring a moral compass to business transactions.  &lt;br&gt;When Sam Walton WAS Walmart, concern for employees and community service was built into the company&#039;s business plan.  With his death came the change to the megalith that we all see today.  &lt;br&gt;Banks are just another example of corporations maximizing profits above all else.  Federal regulations must be applied to keep the unbridled avarice in check.&lt;br&gt;Social banking seems to incorporate the characteristics of an individual with a strong moral compass.&lt;br&gt;Interesting article.</description>
