She emphasized the two countries’ common interests, particularly on trade. And “she acknowledged that tackling the financial crisis, climate change, and security should take precedence over human rights and Tibet issues

I commented on this over a week ago. She is in China begging for Money. Until yesterday I just didnt realize how much money she is begging for.

This is really humiliating for America as we blubber over how nice we are being to those who are eventually going to own this country. I rather suspect that when Obama said we should all learn two languages in his primary campaign he really was tuning up for the budget extravaganza. Most likely the education he proposes will Include courses in Chinese language as this nation prepares for its new benefactors to begin telling us what to do as they own more and more of America.

greenschemes, that's an interesting chain of logic… and for the most part fair enough, though I think your end is out of whack: “Most likely the education he [Obama] proposes will Include courses in Chinese language as this nation prepares for its new benefactors to begin telling us what to do as they own more and more of America.”

The US is still the world's sole superpower and if China wants the US market there are lots of other countries China has to compete with… The real struggle will be between China and India before you see China dominating the US…. And by then there may be an emergent African group of countries with really inexpensive labor and products.

The worlds sole superpower has been had. With the last 8 years the world realized how to beat us into a third word nation.

Let us spend ourselves into bankruptcy just as the Soviet Union did. That has always been Al Queida's plan and its working beautifully. It is why I have always been against the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

  4. StockBoySF says:

greenschemes, yes I agree with you that the wars in Iraq is too costly and should not have been undertaken. But we need to fight the terrorists in Afghanistan…. they attacked us and have said they will attack us again. I don't think we should let a bunch of rabid cave bats destroy us.

But yes, other than that I agree with you…. we should not go into unnecessary wars, which is what Iraq was since they never posed a threat to us.

The fundamentals of economics imply that their is only so much that you can borrow before the burden becomes to great. The USSR became bankrupt when they simply ran out of money and no one was willing to lend them the money to fuel their bizarre international habits.

The USA still has a ways to go before the debt ration is in excess to what any sane person would lend us but that is not the issue in my mind.

The issue continues to be that politican after politican claims a CATASTROPHE after catastrophe in order to justify deficit spending. This time its Obama who is claiming a recession must be fought with pork barrell spending when essentially every recession in our history has been met with limited spending. This president has proposed a 3 trillion dollar deficit in 2 years under the guise of HIS CATASTROPHE. It never ends. Their is no end in sight. He promises to half the deficit by the end of his 4 years. Bush did the same. Bush one and Reagan, Jimmy Carter, LBJ, every damn president all says they will fix it…..Just trust us.

Obama promised he would have answers. He does not. He only has more spending for his side of the aisles wish list with the promise that we have to do this cause its a CATASTROPHE if we dont.

Liars. They are all liars and thats my anger. I don't begrude health care. I covet green. I want our infrastructure to be updated. I want our education to be upgraded. My wife is a special education teacher who teaches in a portable building. But the issue is not what I WANT……..its what we can afford.

In real life I want a lot fo things I dont get because I have a budget and I have a certain amount of disposable income that limits my wish list to reality.

Until our government gets a grip on reality we will continue to believe that deficts dont matter until one day the Chinese will stop lending us money and we will be stuck with this huge bill we have to pay back.
