Obama’s Horseshoe
It is a bit early to order the 57th Presidential Inaugural collectibles but the smart money has to be on Obama getting re-elected in 2012. This week was a major victory for Obama, not only with the signage of his stimulus package, but also with a well-received prime time address that bolstered his approval ratings while the country continues its economic nosedive.
It couldn’t get any better for Obama, could it? Oh, yes… I forgot about the other actors in our national political drama, the hapless Republican Party. First, Michael Steele announces that he is going to start a civil war within the ranks to get rid of sitting Republican United States Senators because of their vote on the stimulus package. Second, the party revives Newt Gingrich as its new (or retro) leader of the loyal opposition. Yesterday, the CPAC true believers booed Tucker Carlson for having the nerve to give them political and media advice that might actually work in the 2010 midterm elections.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the cherry on top of the unpalatable sundae is the remarks by Governor Bobby Jindal on Tuesday night. Not only did the GOP front runner look like a spelling bee contestant that has stage fright, it has been learned that his story about the Louisiana sheriff was totally made up. Jindal’s presidential run and the best hope of the Republican Party to offer an alternative to Obama over the next three years failed miserably.
For the GOP, it’s back to the drawing board. For Obama, you better keep the name of that horseshoe maker a secret… everybody is going to want one.

Isn't it time to start admitting that the Republican death spiral has reached its end and that the U.S. really is a one party state. The Democrats will win even more seats in 2010 and President Obama will be re-elected even if he did not bother to campaign. Conservatives have to admit that there is no future in trying to reach political solutions. Now they will have to find alterantive means to keeping the government off of their back and keeping their taxes as low as possible.
The real question is how bad will cheating on taxes get in the future and will Americans go back to having a fake private business so that they can write off all of their living expenses.
ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE!
Those politicians and officials whom THE PEOPLE elected across this great nation and who betrayed us in the name of corporate contributions. They must be jettisoned out of office next time. Select those in government who favored illegal foreign labor over American workers, and broadcast it nationwide. The list is long that includes Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who erased E-Verify from the Stimulus. -
Congressmen Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ), George Radanovich (R-CA), Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY who up to their necks in immigration reform, that would give the 40 million (Stated Heritage Foundation) AMNESTY, not 11 Million stated 7 years ago? The bill, the STRIVE Act of 2007 (Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy) Giving AMNESTY would only cause a monolithic stampede of human poverty. It would further swamp the workplace pool and the impact would effect taxpayers, because they would be forced to pay for the families and children–the extended family!
Yes! that means citizens and legal residents will be competing for work. Just because they illegally settled here, doesn't make them legal? Thousands took the legal path, while hundreds of thousands wait for an entry visa. Not jumping the line and expect clemency.
Sen.Diane Feinstein (D-CA) who set the stage for the first Sanctuary City. Pro-illegal alien mayors like Antonio Villaraigosa in Los Angeles, Galvin Newsom of San Francisco have brought upon this state a 47 billion dollar budget crash, which now they expect the taxpayers to bail them out. We need new Mayors we can trust as, WALTER MOORE, who will KILL LOS ANGELES 'SANCTUARY' CITY POLICY.
We need Mayors, judges or other elected officials that will be spending your money, to support the taxpayers–not the settlement of illegal aliens.
American Workers want a mandatory E-Verify used by every business in America. They want Federal 247 (g) program, for trained police to arrest and detain illegal aliens. We want the borders sealed as contained in HR. 6061. Compromised behind closed doors by cutting funding.

TPM hasn't been a credible source for the last two years. If I could find this clip of Sheriff Lee, TPM certainly had to be aware of it. Jindal's speech was awful but that doesn't make him a liar.

I think what's important to realise is that part of Obama's 'image' success is a result of the complete fatigue and disgust everyone had with Bush's obvious lack of intelligence and malapropism-ridden English as well as 'Darth Vader' Cheney's lies, deceipt and arrogance. Both are thankfully gone now and look what we have instead. A smart, erudite man who is trying to be transparent and honest – such a change – even as we know not everything he attempts to put in place will work. Hard-wired conservatives have to dig deep to criticise the President himself, even as they puke over his policies. As for Jindal – he blew it in his self aggrandizing child-like response to Obama's budget. I really hope Jindal and Palin are the Republican ticket in '12. I also have to laugh at the paranoia and fear displayed over anything that smacks of 'socialism' – a hangover of the American psyche of the 50's and the cold war. What is a government's role in a crises – social or economic? To stand by and do nothing but make the rich richer and let the Texan oil war lords prevail? I'm in favour of hope over fear and action over despair – and I don't have a gun in my house.
