Pork and Chimps

I have a solution for the public uproar over yesterday’s cartoon in the New York Post. Next time, increase the amount of pork spending in the Department of Education’s fiscal budget to help chimps write better stimulus bills.

But seriously, the only fault I find with the whole scenario is how fast Al Sharpton picked up his flute to fulfill his role as the “pied piper of racial animosity.” Does this guy have anything else to do with his time? His Chicken Little routine is as old and tired as he looks. We are exactly one month into Obama’s presidency, and like clockwork, the race opportunists are back in action throwing gasoline on a decorative candle to make the flames burn higher and hotter.

For my four cents… 1) The stimulus is a bad idea and a chimp could have wrote it; 2) The cartoon was a clever combination of using a real event and framing it as political satire; 3) When was the last time a President actually wrote a bill? 4) Next time, hire Curious George to write the stimulus package… he would have done a good job ;-)

So you're totally OK with the Post cartoon, then?

Well, now I know how to adjudge your "moderation."
