Dr. E. . . This is a great story. . . after i read this a Dali Lama quote floated through. . .

" If we are strong enough to be weak enough we are given a wound that never heals, it is the gift that keeps the heart open." Dali Lama

Then i had to laugh because the mind morphed it's image of the Cupid cutesy image to Dali Lama laughing with his twinkling eyes.

Thank Dr. E. and that which brought you forth for the gift of story that re-members the soulfulness in all.

I found a lot of Truth, with a capital T, in your words. I especially came to attention when I read the words of your grandmother, about Love’s imperfections and Love’s perfect depth. I have unfortunately found a judgmental attitude by some towards ‘True Love’ and what it entails. The expectation is that True Love begets a balanced and beautiful exterior. Some think that you cannot claim to Love if, in the process, you also hurt. In counseling, trying to work out some issues of a difficult relationship, my psychologist was insistent in pointing out that I was being used and not loved; I was just an easy mark for a man that needed what I had to offer. And, although she never stated it quite so directly, I inferred that she thought I did not love him so much as need him for my own imperfect purposes. Thank God for imperfection, for without it, would any of us ever reach out for love?

I am so filled with gratitude to you for reminding me about these deepest truths of our lives.....and for so beautifully weaving them through your words, so that I can really feel the singing, and I can feel your soft cloth in my hands......and I can feel my heart opening up and soaring into the sky.... and I again have the courage to sing my own love song in the world.

Thank you.

Dear Doc,
This is such a great post!
I read the story and just loved it. It touched my heart deeply.
I have a friend who is suffering from the onslaught of cancer and it is a very hard time for her right now.
I gave her a call and asked her to meet me on online (so we could look on the net and talk at the same time) and once we got online, I read your post to her.
She gets overwhelmed with headaches due to the treatments she's receiving and she'll have me read to her anything longer than an paragraph or two.
I read your story to her because it inspires hope and that's what what she really needs right now and it was just a wonderful thing, you know?
She was so touched and she was changed in just the short time that it took me to read her this post.
Thank you for this story because it really brought a joy to her heart. Her whole "demeanor" (such as it is when one uses an online voice chat) changed as I read her the story and at the end, she had changed. The voice that carried so much stress, worry and, in truth, not just a little despair, had altered.
Yes, she was still tired from the treatments but her voice had a different timbre and tone to it and I've not heard her sound so relaxed and "at ease" in many months.

Your posts makes such a difference to so many of us and always in a good way. I always know that by reading your posts, instead of peering at the ground, as is my custom, that I will be tilting my head upwards more towards the horizon line or even higher after reading your posts. It's something we all need to remember to do (look up! look up!) and you always manage to remind us of the value of those little virtues that we tend to forget.
Hope, caring, sharing, hugging, loving, reaching out, helping one's neighbor and, so very important, to remember to hold onto the truth and love that we have held within our hearts...to not hold onto it with such a firm grip but to remember it is indeed there and to extend it when wanted ...when needed.

Thanks again!
Ghosty
