dear Dr. E. sometimes i think stories get lost because they bring about so many angles and feelings for holding. . .here are a few as i have continued to think of Little Girl and Mr. Tree. . .

hurled into a wintering sky. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .gone the color of the earth
Little Girl reached for water. . . . . . . . . . . . . . song of life sounds flat
courage beyond instinctual fear. . . . . . . . . . i think of those who brought this harm
the deeper cry not heard. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . they fed the dark with fire
she reached for the feel of life. . . . .. . . . . . . holes in creature's souls

fireman, Mr. Tree is grieving. . . . . . . . . . . . . each life fallen, shatters
compassion in action he knows. . . . . . . . . homes now, hallow burning stumps
the burdens of loss shall linger. . . . . . . . . .a strong proud Nation in mourning
they so needed on another. . . . . . . . . . . . . .we need to hold them
two bears arm in arms. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the world's tears sooth the burn

( 19 poems making the one). . .
