[update] Bill O’Reilly Insults Helen Thomas After Just One Obama Presser »

I am a big advocate of animal rights and am often quite disturbed when I see the abuse of animals that some people tolerate. However, I have never been a fan of PETA because they take legitimate issues and push them to ridiculous extremes. In addition, they often advocate ridiculous things in pursuit of their agenda.
In case you were never a fan of 90s Pop music, the man above is Lance Bass, who was a member of the group N Sync and more recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars.
PETA is pushing to change the name of the Bass fish to ‘the sea kitten’ in order to prevent people from eating fish. They now have (seriously) pushed for the idea that Mr. Bass should change his name to “Lance Sea Kitten”.
Well at least they give us something to laugh at (and they are getting face time on the issue).
On his “Headlines” feature last night, Jay Leno had a clipping from a Montana newspaper advertising a PETA “Animal Rights 101″ class – designed to teach people about living a “cruelty-free” lifestyle, including a meat-free diet – being held at the local Black Angus Steakhouse.
Yeah I saw that LOL
If you want even more PETA asshattery:

PETA protests outside the Westminster Dog Show today, dressed in full KKK robes and hoods. Yeesh.
In support of PETA's bold initiative, I have asked the rhythm section of all my favorite bands to include a sea-kitten guitar.
