An Almost-Ready-For-Prime-Time Player

President Obama’s first prime-time press conference last evening was a combination of policy nuance and political theatre. Obama was successful in managing the press corps but failed to give me a full picture of what he is going to spend this stimulus package money on in exact terms.

President Obama will probably get his stimulus package through both houses of Congress because of the lopsided majority his party controls. However, he needs to do a better job of explaining how many private sector jobs he is actually going to create with our money. If he does not, or chooses not to give us details, Obama may find that his stimulus package may erode the political higher ground he currently inhabits versus the Republican minority.

More details; less posturing. Although we all were bored to tears in 1992… I want to find out where are those Ross Perot charts when you need them?

    Tony:

    Good post.

It is interesting that some thought that Obama went into too much detail answering each question.

As to "I want to find out where are those Ross Perot charts when you need them?", in this case, I thought , a word was worth a thousand pictures/charts

I liked the part where he said "how dare those who doubled the debt in the past eight years talk to me about the debt? I can double the debt just fine on my own!" At least I think that's what he said.

DaGoat: You found one "Obamaism," I think.

Shall we talk Bushisms? better not

It seems that a lot of Reich-wing pundit found his answers too long, no doubt cutting into their viewing of "Gossip Girl".

After eight-years of embarrassment at Bush's smirking a questions and making up words on the fly how could anyone not appreciate President Obama's firm grasp of difficult subjects and his coherence of speech???.

What is becoming increasing clear is that the Reich-wing hate machine including Reich-wing taking heads like Bill O'Reilly, etc, etc, will only be satisfied if President Obama were to resign tomorrow... and even then they would say that he was doing it arrogantly.

Theses people want President Obama to fail and for America to fail.

Un-American jerks, all of them they have noting to offer but fear and hatred.
