And what is this “FDR-Reagan”? You can't be saying what I think you are. LOL! For FDR, government was the solution, during the depression. He created all kinds of government regulation and employment programs and funding for a national social net. As for Reagan, remember this quote: “Government is not a solution to our problems, government is the problem.” And just over 2 decades later, Katrina hits and we saw that the Reagan-Bush attitude towards government resulted in American dead bodies floating in New Orleans.

A real moderate should say this: small government, but large enough and efficient enough to get critical jobs done.

Here's the problem I have with that title. Do we have to see everything as an ooga booga monkey “fight”? Perhaps, now this is a longshot, but perhaps Obama might just be part of the “maybe we should take a second look at this thing.”

I write, a lot. And I make big important decisions a lot….high stakes…ones that could make or break the family. So if Obama is himself vacillating on what he first thought was a good idea, then he is just simply in process and not some battered monkey backing down by bigger brutes. Can Congress (and the media) not get beyond the primate circus? Is everything (still) going to be about hairy egos and knuckle-dragging partisan politics fighting for the sake of preserving the old gang mentality? Or are we going to have a new dawn where people come together to do good not only for others but for themselves by helping others.

That's the only way our economy will rebound for either the poor or the rich man BTW. It's like God has us in Checkmate, there's no wiggle room left. We either get along and compromise or we're going down. The real enemy is what Bushco did to our country. The dems and the GOP BOTH should turn their backs on that ilk, formally. Or they can continue to fight over petty issues like monkies.

The left needs to cut out the fluff programs and save them for later, the right needs to swallow the hard fact that THIS TIME the money is going to the little guys….you need to revive them before you can take advantage of them again…like duh…

Fortunately, Obama's op-ed in today's Post shows he's willing to take these cynics on.
