Is New Rochelle School Crossing The Line To Politicization With Pro-Obama Project?

In a democratic society. Yes it is. What would be the outrage if they were doing this for Sarah Palin?

In the New Fascist America. No it is not.

Fascism is an authoritarian nationalist ideology focused on solving economic, political, and social problems that its supporters see as causing national decline or decadence.

We all know that the Democrats see that our political, social and economic problems are all the result of the GOP and their evil corporations. So in this context then I would have to say that what they are doing is fascist at best and most likely highly popular with the Democrats who support Obama and the new democratic process.

From the post alone, I see nothing wrong with it. If it ad been done before the election, it would have been wrong (or perhaps the assignment could have been to draw a poster with their favorite candidate), or if the students were pushed to portray a particular viewpoint in their drawings, that would have been wrong. But the post didn't say that. It said they were to draw a picture to mark the occasion. Some students, apparently of their own choice, decided to make somewhat politically oriented posters.

An inauguration is not a partisan event. It it a democratic (small d) and American event. Is any mention or assignment involving the inauguration off limit in our schools, because it could be thought of as political? That would be sad. I think it's perfectly appropriate to talk about the significance of the inauguration.

My one caveat is that it's entirely possible that this post doesn't tell the whole story. I don't know exactly what was said in the classroom so its very possible something inappropriate could have been said that was not reported.

By the way, I voted for McCain.

edited: I read the post again, and noted that it said that the students were giving pictures to color in. I had mistakenly thought it said the students drew them themselves (I'm still not 100% clear on that). If they did only color them, not draw them, then at least the campaign button one was probably not appropriate, and I'm not sure about the others since I can't see them. The assignment would have been much better if they had been allowed to draw their own depictions.

These people are the low tail of the bell curve, but they're nothing new, and the real question is, Does anyone find this surprising?

(The correct answer should be "no." It's sad if anyone is surprised, or doesn't find such indoctrination of school kids objectionable.)

The post-1960s leftist hand on education is alive and well, and encouraging kids to be good, obedient, politically correct Democrats.

(Don't forget the _political_ stances openly expressed time after time by teacher's unions as well as their blatantly _political_ activities.)

Does anyone remember the neurotic-to-psychotic "nuclear education" or "peace education" political and propaganda campaigns in the schools when the evil Reagan and his subsequent henchman, Bush the elder, was in office?

Or the heavily politicized (also the point of militance) "AIDS education"?

Or whatever militant political propaganda and lies kids may be given currently in school about "global warming" and the evil USA?


Aren't others familiar with the Hollywood "learning kit"? Even the New York Times and Time Lite took notice of that -- see below. Don't forget that Ken "Jackie Robinson as Jesus, America the Evil Roman Empire" Burns has yet to compete with Oliver Stone to create a "documentary" about Obama. What of a learning kit then?

What's so surprising about indoctrinating young schoolchildren into the Communist Youth, excuse me, Democratic School Corps?

How stupid. Since Nixon opened up to China, we have single-handedly BUILT Communist China into the world's economic superpower, handed them the keys to our kingdom by making them both our banker and our manufacturing sector and have consistently granted them "most favored nation" status. Way to fight Communism, Huh?

GOPers seem completely unable to put their actions where their oversized mouths are.

But I think I get it. Borrowing massively from our children is OK, as long as it is used to "stimulate the economy" which means shoveling it into the pockets of the super rich. GOP sees no problem there. It even "increases revenue," since a tiny fraction of the borrowed money is paid back in taxes. Wow. A miracle of free enterprise.

But try to help the old, sick, weak or unemployed. No, THAT is Communism.

Apparently I was failed by the uber fascistic Democrat Muslim Communist scheme because I grew up to hold some liberal and some conservative views, consider myself somewhat of a cynic of government involvement, but love my country nonetheless. And I went to public school and a college filled with liberal professors.
