Big Ben and Joe Willy

As a native from the ‘burgh, from the small town of Beaver Falls, I was thrilled that my Pittsburgh Steelers won their record setting SIXTH VINCE LOMBARDI TROPHY! My hometown quarterback Joe Willy Namath presented the trophy to the Rooney family on the 40th anniversary of Namath’s Super Bowl III win.

It was a great game throughout. The Arizona Cardinals showed they truly belonged on the biggest sporting stage in the world. Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald were as good as advertised and gave the Steelers all they could handle. In the end, Steeler quarterback Big Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Santonio Holmes made a connection that will go down in Super Bowl history. This game was an example of why the NFL is the most professional sports league in America… exciting play and more importantly… good sportsmanship!

Nothing I love more than driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike and passing that house with the Steelers logo painted on the roof.

    1. Tony, if you love Pittsburgh (which really is a beautiful city), you should visit Portland (Oregon) sometime. I've lived and traveled all over the USA, have been to both cities (my brother lived in Portland for many years), and I can tell you that it is Pittsburgh's sister city. How does a nice skyline located among multiple major rivers, a city known for its bridges, that even also has an approach from the west through a tunnel sound to you? Also some of the well-known and -loved bridges in Portland were designed by Gustav Lindenthal.

    2. I paid attention to Big Ben on the sidelines as well as on the field, and yes, he is definitely big. Pro football is a game that favors the big men, and Big Ben is so big that I was thinking that if he is in the passer's pocket and is hit by enemy players, he is big enough that it's punishing to the enemy players. Note that he is more graceful than another quarterback who was big but clutzier -- John Elway. I wonder how Big Ben's throwing arm compares to Elway's cannon and if he could -- gracefully, in Ben's case -- run fast enough to elude even defensive backs as Elway could.

I just wish someone would teach him the correct way to point the brim of a baseball cap, because he and others look stupid when they wear a cap pointed backwards.
