I’ve long since given up on fighting the trend of having a day, week or month to commemorate everything under the sun. We have talk like a pirate day, alcohol awareness week, (do we get a discount?) and all 12 slots on the calendar are taken up for somebody’s history awareness month. (Note to Congress: my dog is still waiting for basset hound awareness month.) Anyway, if we’re going to have all of these generally pointless celebrations, it’s high time that we had one that everyone can truly get behind and appreciate.
That’s why I’m asking you to join me in signing the petition to make the last week in January, National Pie Week. Come on. Who doesn’t like pie? It’s free and will only take a moment. Go sign. I think they’re up in the ten thousand range for signatures already. What number did you get?
Your dog isn't going to get a basset hound awareness month because you vote for third party candidates who are sure to lose.
Take some responsibility for your actions!!!!!!!
National Pie Week sounds like a good idea to me. There are nearly 22000 people at this point who have signed the petition. I'd like just a plain history awareness month, a month when everyone thinks about what happened in the past and tries to learn from it. But then again, I am a history major, so maybe I'm biased.
