Utter nonsense. How often do fuel taxes go into general revenues, and then get appropriated for other spending choices? And nobody should be trying to “penalize” or “punish” people for driving by imposing taxes just because these activists happen to be greedy or quite demented. It's also no business of government or those advocating the pratice, for government to engage in social engineering, which includes discriminating against conventionally-powered vehicles and favoring the nuts' beloved “alternative” vehicles (at least, unless and until they are successful).
