It cost $ 1.00, so I almost didn't buy it. I remember when it was 50 cents. Of course, I can read about any newspaper I want on-line, or a dozen news sites, all included in the price of my monthly cable/internet subscription. Why do I need a newspaper?

I wonder when the left side of politics in the U.S. will begin to realize that diversity kills mass media. If most people are divided into ethnic and special interest groups, they are not going to be interested in a mass market newspaper. Also, the media has to admit that if most of the high school seniors in an area can only read English at a 7th grade level and have little if any knowledge of history, literature, science, or culture, that they will not be interested in reading any newspaper.
