Don't you think that they're counting on the Latinos to have forgiven and forgotten by the next election if they push hard enough on social conservatism issues that they agree with the Republicans about?

The actual lyrics, sung by a chorus in sub-Speedy Gonzales thick accents, opens with “Jose can you see.” An old joke, and a mildly amusing one at that, so fair enough. It then goes on about how Jose and kin sail across the Rio while the “gringos are sleeping,” and they hate our flag, preferring Mexico's own red, white, and green. That seems to be what the rest of the song is about, letting the US flag become frayed while shouting about how “our flag was not theirs,” then ending in an accent so thick I can't even make out the lyrics. Something about weenies.

Definitely relations with Mexico, the borders, immigration, etc. are legitimate concerns that won't go away. But this song doesn't actually delve into any of the serious concerns, and it's purpose in general is hard to fathom, outside of “Ha ha, Latinos speak funny! How dare they display the Mexican flag in rallies!” There may be some specific context I'm missing, but taken by itself, and to someone who actually *lives* in a border city, it's baffling.

That has the Karl Rove wet dream. Of course, Karl Rove has been shown to be an idiot and is one of the reasons that the Republican Party is now irrelevant. California is lost to the Repubican forever due to Hispanic population growth. California is running massive budget deficits and will have very high taxes for the middle class because of illegal aliens. I hope the cheap dry wall and lawn service was worthy it for the oen border Republicans.

Perhaps “elrod” might consider trying to think about this in a bit more depth, or perhaps TMV should find someone else capable of that. They could start by looking at the images on the video and trying to understand the dangerous situation of having millions of people in the U.S. who have no or little allegiance to this country. Understanding that sentence is probably going to be a real brain workout for “elrod”, so ask friends to help. Then, “elrod” can try to find out which government some of the organizers of the major marches were linked to, and the possibility that implies.

Does anyone really believe that the more conservative party can ever appeal to Hispanics. Pandering to Hispanics means that the Republicans will have to become the Democratic-lite, big government, big brother party to compete with the Democratic Party.

The pro business Repubicans need to realize that whatever they may think they are saving with lower wages due to open borders will eventually be lost to higher taxes and higher businesses expenses due to all of those illegal aliens eventaully becoming automatic Democratic voters.
