I think Obama is following the kind of national security/foreign policy espoused by Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger.

The kind that extended the Vietnam war another four years by going around the LBJ and undermining his attempt at peace in 1968? or the kind that dropped an estimated two million tons of bombs on Laos, a country that we were not a war with, destabilizing it's society and leafing to the takeover by the Kmer Rouge?
