America: Things are Looking Up!

Some new rounds of polling from Rasmussen Reports indicate that, reality be damned, the future is so bright we should probably wear shades.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Republican voters now say America’s best days are in the future, while 48% think they are in the past, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Democrats say America’s best days lie ahead by a 53% to 30% margin. Among unaffiliated voters, 48% say the nation’s best days are in the future while 35% say they are in the past.

Overall, 47% of voters say America’s best days are in the future, while 37% say they are in the past.

Yes, Americans are more confident indeed, and about pretty much everything. In fact, they are also confident that we’re going to be attacked by terrorists in the next year.

Nearly three-out-of-five U.S. voters (59%) say a terrorist attack in the United States like the one last week in India is at least somewhat likely in the next year. Twenty-three percent (23%) say it is Very Likely.

Just five percent (5%) say such an attack is not at all likely to occur here in the next 12 months, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
