14truth-

I found that very suspicious also-especially since Jeb promised his brother the state before the results were in. Early on Gore was declared the winner-- after some hours it was reversed. Put the nutty Florida Sec State, widespread reports of minority voter suppression and Jim Baker in the mix and whala--- W becomes number 43.

I also believe that the moderate Charlie Crist is more popular than the Bush Dynasty. Jeb ruled during good times, Crist has to deal with the garbage left behind by Jebidiah.

Yes, Jeb was popular here but not with everyone. I have to point out that as a long time FL resident, I never saw an election such as we had in 2000, and in my mind the highly questionable results will always be tied to the fact that the governor's brother won. Add to that the fact that the woman who was largely responsible, Ms. Harris, went on to be rewarded with a better position in Jebs government. One of those things that makes you say, "hmmm."

Another item the people outside of FL should be aware of, is that Jeb, like George, mistook his position for "king." I remember two specific instances where the PEOPLE (you know, the rabble who don't own or run corporations) voted for STATE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS for classroom size limits which included a deadline for implementation, and also a high speed train. Jeb decided he didn't like either one, cried about the money requirements and finally just ignored them. This behavior sound familiar?

Additionally, there is the tie between this guy and the cronies of his father: Daddy Bush hunts with the King family in Texas. The King family owns the King ranch and is oil wealthy. The people who sat on boards for the bank in KINGSVILLE Texas also sat on boards of other banks in Texas and on the boards of the SUGAR industry in Florida. Jeb ALWAYS supported the sugar industry, even when the people in Florida wanted protection for the everglades.

You don't have to take my word for this. There are books in the public library that list who sits on what board and you can also look up the persons name. Your reference librarian can help you. You can also verify facts through the news archives.

[sigh] Aside from the overreaction, why in the world would, or should, this be a surprise to anyone?

** EARTH TO THE UNAWARE ** Don't be surprised if Jeb Bush runs for President someday, too.

(Neil Bush as Treasury Secretary -- and you thought Paulson's favoritism was bad. Bwahahaha!)

As much as I dislike W, Jeb did a good job in Florida. I may disagree with him on some issues, but at least he's not a corporate hack who would destroy our prosperity, arrogantly ignore international law and wipe his a&& with the Constitution, like his brother.

Sounds GOOD!!
Think about how long the Democrats have made America to put up w/ the Kennedys, now I think most Americans can hang w/ another Bush in Washington. Republican beliefs and American born! Give it to them Jeb, you've got my support and cheers.
From another Californian Republican.
