Yes, plenty of significant stuff happened under Bush in both his terms that we would have been better off with a Dem in 2000 and 2004. I want to weep every time I think about how Bush has trashed our rights and the US Constitution for his own petty benefit and the benefit of his friends. That's just one example. Our poor country really needs some healing.

Anyway, without Bush then Obama would not have been elected and that's a huge step forward in terms of race. But let's not place the cart before the horse. Obama still has to deliver as president. Personally I think he will and he is off to a great start.

I wish Gore had been declared the victor in 2000. Then none of what we have gone through would have happened. Think how far ahead we would be on alternative fuel development!

Yes, Democrats are probably better off having lost the election. But the cost to the nation in the meantime has been horrific. Given that and as much as I supported Obama, as an American first, I wish Kerry had won.

Sam Alito and John Roberts would not be on the Supreme Court if Kerry were President. That's pretty significant.
