Ha, I think you might be a bit "canon", Jack. When I looked at the pics in your post, I couldn't see any significant differences at all until I noticed the engine bit has a new flow to it.
I'm with the writer at the other site. My favorite Enterprise is the one from the Shatner movies. It was graceful and just menacing enough. While this new design thankfully has the heft that's been missing from Trek ships since the move to digital effects, it is missing that grace.

I like the Enterprise E version, it's one of my favorite versions of the Enterprise. I hated the Enterprise D, from The Next Generation, for the first two seasons then started to warm up to it.
My initial reaction to this new look is about 75% which is better than my reaction to the Enterprise D. My main gripe is the back of the engine section doesn't look big enough to support for the pylons and warp drives.
The shots I've seen of the bridge make it seem too bright, it looks like an Apple store. Not that I don't like Apple stores, it just doesn't look like a bridge to the Enterprise. :)
