My dislike of Palin comes from her lack of qualifications to be VP, her dishonesty about Troopergate and the Bridge to Nowhere, and her use of nasty smear tactics during the election. She has a populist charisma but made a joke out of McCain's ticket. She seems to blur the lines between church and state– and says she only acts out of God's will. Its a turnoff for well-educated voters.

I hope she runs on the 2012 ticket, so we can all have a good laugh at Tina Fey on SNL. Then after losing the middle once more for the GOP, she fly back to Wasilla and political oblivion on her broomstick! Maybe she can look at a world map in the interim. :–)

As for me personally, and although I disagree with her on a number of issues, I hope Palin sticks around and is a success for quite some time, if for nothing else just to annoy and irritatate “tolerant” hypocrites like Mikey above. His kind deserves the aggravation.

Also nailed it. But will they deal with it? If the lesson they take away from this election is that they weren't far right enough, then the answer to that question would be no.

But it is worrying that so many people voted for McCain even after he chose Palin.

For all of the complaining we all tend to do about the toxic nature of divisive politics, you seem to just jump right in and relish in it. With all due respect, your post makes Karl Rove look like a consensus builder. As far as I'm concerned, you and Sullivan can keep climbing into the rabbit hole to figure out who Trig's real parents are. The rest of us just might have a few more pressing issues to talk about.

I mean, PDS? Over a transient figure in American politics whose 15 minutes won't make it past Obama's inauguration? What a waste of your outrage and energy.

We already know how snobs feel about Palin.

The more she makes certain types of people howl, the more popular she will be. But, that's your problem.
