As I wrote elsewhere, he (and later, others who he brings to work with him) may try to craft a new, modern (contemporary) kind of liberalism and path for the Democratic Party and Washington to follow, incrementally more activist and interventionist (which is bad) but which may be more up to date and logical for the times -- as well as more refined insofar as he may set priorities rather than just trying to offer everything to everybody. (If nothing else, the financial state of Washington will set limits to what he can expect to do.)

His chief-of-staff choice shows he or his admin is going to be fiercely partisan. (We already knew what Dem "bi-partisanship" means. This time it's as blatant as it could be.)

His Cabinet choices will probably mean the most to most of us, as well as achieve the most of whatever he really is planning and seeking to do.

We will also be watching to see how he works with and when and where he limits the worst the Congressional Dems will eventually attempt to do.
